Supreme x Michael Jackson Collection – from Pop King to Streetwear Icon?
Remember those Supreme x Michael Jackson collection rumors. Well, it turns out that the king of pop is officially becoming a streetwear god. Huh? My thoughts exactly. However, the MJ collaboration may not be as odd as it sounds. After all, the only fans more insane than Supreme clothing fanatics are those of the late Michael Jackson. So yea, it’s basically a big deal for millions of people.
As if James Jebbia‘s Supreme brand isn’t making enough streetwear news. The cult apparel brand begin the year with it’s much talked about Louis Vuitton collaboration. Then along came updates to its Supreme x [Dr. Martens, North Face, and Commes des Garcons shirt] lines. Most recently, the brand announced a collection with Lacoste. However, for the time being all attention is on Michael Jackson’s Supreme. The exclusive collection consists of a series of t-shirts, hooded sweatshirts, short-sleeve work shirts, and even a few Micheal Jackson x Supreme skateboard decks. For the graphics, the brand enlists an iconic image from MJ’s “Billie Jean” music video. Adorning each piece in the Supreme x Michael Jackson collection, its seems to be yet another number one hit.
The full Supreme clothing and accessories collection featuring Michael Jackson will drop on Thursday May 25 online and in-store. Fans can visit Supreme store locations in New York, Los Angeles, London and Paris to shop. Future Michael Jackson x Supreme fans in Japan can shop the release at store locations beginning May 27.
