CourrÑges Fall Winter 2016: French Fashion House CourrÑges Presents its Latest Collection at Paris Fashion Week.
Andre CourrÑges was known for being ahead of his time, designing concepts that often stayed underground until decades later. Today the label is headed by design duo Sebastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant and so far the team has worked diligently to uphold the brand’s aesthetic integrity. The question is, how can the two still keep CourrÑges current in a sea of fashion labels, especially those who are geared at designing for the future?
Meyer and Villant conquered this question in the brand’s latest collection by tackling two of fashion’s current obsessions: technology and ready-to-buy. Tech and fashion have become best friends, and Meyers and Villant have acknowledged this friendship and responded with fashion that literally brought the dual concept to life; outerwear that warms itself.
Backstage the designers offered more insight into their innovative concept. With a simple push of a button located on the left bicep of the garment, the technology is enabled and the coat warms itself and stays charged for up to six hours. The function can also be activated via mobile phone. Adding more marketing tact to the collection, the fashion house immediately released 30 pieces that are all available to buy right now. Not bad for their sophomore collection.
