Campaigns: Alexander McQueen SS16 Ad Campaign

Alexander McQueen SS16: Alexander McQueen Releases Spring Summer 2016 Campaign

McQueen releases an ethereal SS16 ad campaign inspired by the dynamic history of the iconic brand. The series blends the more subtle aesthetics of nature alongside McQueen’s fascination with the fantasy culminating in a campaign that represents the McQueen aesthetic of today, as it always has been.

Lensed by David Sims, we’re taken on location to Seville, Spain and are granted rare glimpses of the raw country side. Starring model of the moment, Natalie Wrestling, the campaign serves a fresh juxtaposition between the breadth of nature and the austere blank space of isolation depicted through a gray studio background.

According to the brand, the campaign aims to explore the dual nature of the McQueen woman. Considering the colorful legacy that Alexander McQueen left behind, it does appear that the brand continues to keep the late designer’s brand aesthetic at the forefront of its creative direction and we’d have it no other way.
