Kristen Stewart is Karl Lagerfeld’s Latest Muse in a Film Short for Chanel, Once and Forever.
Karl Lagerfeld does nothing on a small scale, so it is no surprise that Chanel’s upcoming Métiers d’Art show in December, is set to bring to life the legacy of CoCo Chanel like never before. Being a jack of all trades (creative director, designer, producer, photographer- to name a few), Lagerfeld delves into the magic of film as he presents Once and Forever, a film short starring Kristen Stewart as the iconic CoCo Chanel.
The film takes us alongside Stewart and Geraldine Chaplin as actors preparing for the role of Gabrielle Chanel at different points throughout their lives. Stewart’s character is a real standout, a fiery actor who butts heads with the rest of the cast.
This isn’t Stewart’s first time fronting a project for Lagerfeld. She was the face of the 2013 Dallas-themed Metiers d’art collection, Autumn ’12 handbag campaign and eyewear collection. Here’s what Lagerfeld had to say about Stewart. “(Kristen is) so good,” Lagerfeld shared with WWD. “I think she’s one of the greatest actors of her generation. She gives the right emotion and the right intensity immediately so it’s very easy to work her…”
Lagerfeld also had quite a bit to say about the success of the existing CoCo Chanel biopics as well,“All my movies about Chanel are better than the biopics,” he said simply. “They’re all horrible.”
