Donatella Returns for a Streetwear Cool Versus Versace Resort 2018 Collection
Donatella Versace takes matters into her own hands with Versus Versace Resort 2018. The past few seasons have been incredibly busy for the veteran designer. Amidst keeping the iconic Versace brand alive, her focus is toward the future. So what exactly does the future of fashion look like for the Versus Versace fan? Donatella suggests that it’s all about a cool, confident streetwear attitude.
As of late, the Italian designer hasn’t exactly played a very hands-on role in her diffusion late. Instead, designers like Christopher Kane and Anthony Vaccarello were allowed to take over. For the most part, their efforts were a success. Yet still, who could possibly know the future of Versace better than Donatella, herself.
For her return to the Versus Versace catwalk, she brings plenty of youthful swagger. The style is somewhere between athleisure and urban streetwear with a side of Italian luxury fashion flair. Her Versus lineup includes contemporary separates like tapered trousers with wide leg openings, denim, and even a few hip blazers. Perhaps the collection gains much of it’s excitement from its electric color palette. The Versus Versace 2018 collection utilizes a playful assortment of neon and pastel hues. From pops of lime green, lavender, or pink on bags to a full monochromatic neon green skirt and shirt.
Overall, the collection emphasizes the slightly edgier Versace motif we’ve seen as of late. Don’t get me wrong, the brand has always been very sexy and confident. However, it isn’t necessarily what one thinks of when referring to a modern streetwear brand. That’s changing, quickly. Check out a few of our favorite looks from Versus Versace Resort 2018 below.
