Tracee Ellis Ross Slays in Kenzo Spring Summer 2017 Campaign.
Black-ish’s Tracee Ellis Ross is on a roll. As the daughter of Miss Diana Ross, does one even have a choice? After recently winning her first Golden Globe, Tracee Ellis Ross is back in the spotlight once again. This time around, the star trades in primetime for fashion as she stars in the Kenzo Spring 2017 ad campaign. The 44 year-old actress is lensed by Los Angeles-based twin duo Jalan and Jibril Durimel, also known as Durimel. Joining Tracee Ellis Ross in the Kenzo campaign is an eclectic crew of personalities including actor Jesse Williams and musician Kelsey Lu.
For the campaign, Tracee poses in a cinematic feeling series of images styled in the French brand’s SS17 collection. Shot against a rich background of wood paneling and brick, the imagery evokes a performance studio vibe. The energy is further enhanced by various moments of lunging, stretching, and dynamic movements amongst the models. Accompanying the campaign is a video directed by grammy nominee, Kahlil Joseph, who’s credited with leading the creative team for Beyoncé’s critically acclaimed “Lemonade” visual project. From what we can see, it looks like Tracee Ellis Ross is definitely making mama Diana proud. Slay, Tracee, Slay.
