NYFW: Men’s Changes Venues and Schedules for Upcoming Season.
Dates and location for NYFW: Men’s have yet again changed. Mark Beckham, Business Director of Fashion Week have confirmed that NYFW: Men’s with debut February 1-4 instead of late January as previously scheduled. The change in the schedule will now properly align with Men’s Fashion Week in Europe, with Paris wrapping up on January 30th.
With the new dates set in place, another dilemma arose- location. In July Skylight, Clarkson Square hosted many of Men’s Fashion Week, but the venue is booked for another event on the corresponding new dates. Instead, a new venue a few blocks away will showcase the presentations. The substitute venue is reportedly larger than Clarkson Square, 70,000 square feet with a loft-like ambiance. This space, sponsored by Dockers, can hold 400 people. Keeping fashion editors, retailers and buyers in mind, Beckham tells WWD: “With the proximity of men’s and women’s shows and the schedule in Europe, we’re pushing our dates to accommodate the maximum number of retailers and editors.” In July, the designer turn out was around 51, but with all the latest tweaks in the schedule, Beckham anticipates a remarkable turnout.
