Jeff Koons Louis Vuitton Bag Collection Lets You Buy Your First Mona Lisa or Van Gogh
You may now be able to buy your first Mona Lisa, Da Vinci or Van Gogh. Enigmatic artist Jeff Koons unveils his bag collaboration with French luxury house Louis Vuitton. First announced, some time ago, the Jeff Koons Louis Vuitton “Masters” project is under much anticipation. The ornate bags take direct inspiration from historical art. Similar to Koons’s 2013 Gazing Ball series, his work with Louis Vuitton revisits the great classics of the art world. Utilizing the brand’s luxurious leather design, Jeff Koons re-interprets the paintings of five influential artists. Amongst his mood board are reproductions of Leonardo Da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, Peter Paul Rubens and Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Each artist’s signature appears in the form of large, reflective letters on each bag.
The Jeff Koons x Louis Vuitton “Masters” range of bags include LV’s most signature bags. LV Mainstays like the Never Full, Speedy, and Keep all get an art history update. The line also includes a collection of smaller items like wallets and keychains. Retailing for $585 USD to $4,000 USD, shoppers can buy their very first Mona Lisa and Louis Vuitton bag in one purchase. The full Jeff Koons Louis Vuitton bag collection is available on the LouisVuitton.com site.
