Jason Wu Fall 2017 is Basically Made for Michelle Obama, New York Fashion Week.

Life has been somewhat of a party for Jason Wu over the last decade. I don’t mean your your average evening rendezvous, but instead a Romantic evening affair. Wu got his first major moment in the spotlight compliments of Michelle Obama, as she wore the designer’s party frock to her historic inauguration. A few months prior, the Parson Design School grad received a nod from the industry itself with a CDFA/Vogue Fashion Fund nomination. So with his 10th anniversary New York Fashion Week showing, Jason Wu celebrates it all.

Although the first look was all black, Wu quickly transitions into a cool, camel tone color story. Soon after, he introduces black herringbone print, a rich red, and a intriguing floral print. Standing as the designer’s canvas were pants suits, dresses, blouses and knits. Everything possessed a certain poise and refinement. Take for instance the rich camel pant suit or the long red trench doubling as a dress. Wu’s collection offered the very wardrobe you’d expect of a first lady. In addition to his more modern, day wear, he also shows an assortment of splendid evening gowns. From a rich emerald green, velvety print, to sheer florals, and delicate embellishments, Wu wanted every moment to be his best- and it was.
