Irina Shayk Lands the Cover of Vogue Russia September 2016 and Sports a Bold New Blonde Haircut.
Irina Shayk proves her prominent presence this September as she graces another magazine cover, this time as the face of Vogue Russia’s September issue. The Russian model graces the cover of GQ Italia for this coming September as well. Whilst posing entirely nude for GQ Italia, Shayk bears clothing for the cover of Vogue Russia but nevertheless provides a seemingly similar shock factor as she fronts the issue with totally blonde hair. Shayk, recognizable for her brunette locks, dyed her hair blonde for the editorial before returning back to brunette quite immediately.
Famed photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot the September issue cover and editorial in Los Angeles. The photographers seem to be dominating the month of September as having photographed covers for both America and Paris as well. This issue in particular has quickly received praise for Shayk’s stunningly captivating expression for the cover and her undeniable presence. In fact the editorial as an entirety is already perceived as one of her best works yet.
The temporary blonde bombshell is styled by Semra Russell and dressed in selected pieces from the FW16 collections of Prada, Bottega Veneta, Maison Margiela, Miu Miu, Isabel Marant and Emanuel Ungaro. For the editorial, Shayk is sultry and undeniably and unapologetically sexy in her nature and is posed provocatively both with and without the inclusion of male models.
An emotional Shayk expressed her gratitude for this milestone moment in her career stating, “It is such an honor to be on the September Vogue cover of my home country. I shot with Mert and Marcus in LA, so it was truly a dream team and one-in-a-lifetime experience. After over 10 years in the industry it’s a milestone in my career I will never forget, plus my mom and family can read the entire magazine!”
