Fox’s primetime, headline making show “Empire” is one of the most talked about shows on television. With a cast of rising stars and A-list veterans ala Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard, and the Supermodel herself, Naomi Campbell, it’s no surprise at all that the hit show is being called one of the most fashionable shows on the small screen. From the one-of a kind, confidently progressive style of our girl Cookie Lyon to the refined and shall we say sometimes “bougie” ensembles of Cecil Lyon, we’ve definitely picked up a few style tips from the whole family these past few seasons.

Primetime soap opera indulgers aren’t the only ones who’ve taken a liking to the sleek, urban style of the “Empire” gang. Taraji P. Henson has quickly become a muse of Alexander Wang appearing as his personal date to the Met Gala and a slew of red carpet moments signed, A. Wang. The prolific designer isn’t the only American fashion house who has his eye on Cookie’s Empire. When it comes to the experimental, cool kids of fashion, it’s hard to compete with Hood By Air’s Shayne Oliver. The designer first referenced his love for all things Empire at his Fall ’15 runway show where he debuted sound track voice-overs featuring the only person who can quiet an entire room, Cookie Lyon. It seems that the attraction was mutual, with Hood By Air appearing on the show’s second season.

The collection is a marriage of the Empire universe and the styles and silhouettes Oliver recalls from his own upbringing, he shared with Vogue. From in your face graphic prints with  lines from Cookie herself, “I want what’s mine”, to more complex marriages with the brand in the form of body suits, mesh dresses, and knits accompanied by the bizarre and intriguing allure of the Hood By Air aesthetic.

The 40 piece collection is currently available via the Hood By Air website. With prices ranging between $15-$300, we can all perhaps finally get a piece of the Empire.
