The Gucci Spring 2017 Campaign Cast Real Lions, Tigers, & Giraffes alongside Models. Yikes.
Much of fashion is about fantasy. However, Gucci creative director, Alessandro Michelle, sees very little difference between the two. For the Gucci Spring 2017 fashion ad campaign, Alessandro takes his larger than life imagination further casting wildlife including lions, tigers, leopards and giraffes alongside models. The designer has long shown an affinity for the eclectic, enamoring his collections with animal motifs such as snakes and cats. The Gucci Spring 2017 collection may just be his most daring collection and campaign yet.
The surreal campaign imagery, lensed by Glen Lunchford, explores the streets of Rome alongside a few not so tame characters. We follow a rebellious looking crew of models as they become living art amongst the storied architecture that surround them. Despite the appearance of a few feline friends, the true star of the campaign in the Gucci Spring 2017 collection. An eclectic mix of mesmerizing prints (many featuring wildlife) are paired with relaxed Gucci tees. The brand’s signature handbags also make an appearence, reimagined wit the addition of embellishments and luxurious, vintage feeling details.
