Ovadia and Sons FW16: Ovadia & Sons Debuts A Collection For The Detail Oriented
From a distance, it was business as usual as we looked on at the Ovadia and Sons FW16 collection. Over sized and asymmetrical silhouettes eased across the runway alongside a monochromatic color palette. But Ariel and Shimon Ovadia of Ovadia & Sons dare you to take a closer look. Here you will find endless texture, hidden patterns, and subtle details that dare the eye to take a second glance, and possibly a third.
The collection utilized an eclectic assortment of fabrics, opening with a sheer silk Henley underneath a voluminous trench coat. Heavier fabrics soon emerged,  including shearling bombers, one in an attractive deep navy and another in a fluffy cotton white. Shearling could also be found on the collars of bomber jackets and trench coats.
Other details were subtle, like the sporadic brocade print found on blazers and coats or the raw edges found on trousers, resulting in fly-away threads. The designers also employed the use of contrasting textiles as seen on the sleeves of bomber jackets and shirts, all the way down to the calf-hair shoes.
