Dior Hommes Teams up with Japanese Artist Toru Kamei for a Floral Filled Capsule Collection
Dior Hommes is welcoming Spring with flowers, literally. Adding to his existing Dior Hommes Spring/Summer 2017 collection, designer Kris Van Assche reveals a surprise floral filled addition. For the range, the artistic director enlists Japanese artist Toru Kamei. Known for his surreal mythological paintings, Kamei adorns the line with dreamy, sensual visuals.
Toru Kamei’s take on the Dior Hommes “FUN FAIR” collection is all about botanicals. Similar to the artist’s past botanical still life artwork, there’s a dark undertone. Equal parts romantic and gothic the offering introduces a motif of skulls wrapped in flowers. The renderings appear in the form of patches covering shirts, blazers, and bags. There’s even floral pins accessorizing blazers.
