Karl Lagerfeld delivers an Collection and Runway Inspired by Aviation in his Chanel SS16 Collection.
Louis Vuitton wasn’t the only presentation during Paris Fashion Week that prepped us for a journey. Karl Lagerfeld set us inside of Chanel’s airport terminal, the audience were the lucky passengers, the models, the flight attendants, and the pilot, Lagerfeld himself. But where was Chanel headed one may ask?
According to the departure board in the Grand Palais cities such as Singapore, Dubai, Tokyo, Seoul, and more, serving all of its first class clients the latest collection. Chanel’s new found luggage consisted of hard case wheelie bags, and tweed carry-on bags, Chanel’s specialty. The silhouettes of the collection were reminiscent of the 70s, with floor length wide-leg trousers, knee length drop waist skirts, and oversized jackets. Accompanied by futuristic eyewear with a familiar 1970s frame silhouette and opaque orange and blue tints, the classic cuts and elegant textures of the brand were exaggerated that much more. We’d certainly say that this latest collection flew first class.
