Raf Simons Goes Ultra Minimal for First Calvin Klein Jeans Ad Campaign
Raf Simons’ first few months in office at Calvin Klein have been extraordinary. So far he has already launched his first NYFW collection even found time for some rebranding. Amongst his artistic directorial projects we’ve seen a new Calvin Klein logo and a fresh Spring/Summer 2017 campaign. Continuing in momentum, Simons’ reveals the Calvin Klein Jeans Spring/Summer ’17 ad campaign.
Further exploring his new vision for the iconic American brand, Raf offers an ultra modern take. For the advert, he enlists an intriguing crew of models including Natalie Westling, Kiki Willems, Lulu, Selena Forrest, Jonas Gloer, Tyler Blue Golden, and Fernando. Behind the lens is photographer Willy Vanderperre. Similar to his prior ad spot, the imagery is all about mood. Equal parts vintage and modern, Simons’ pans in on the effortless sexuality of the Calvin Klein brand. Shot in black and white, the imagery is still a departure from the usual Calvin Klein campaign visuals. You want find any nude models here. In fact, only one model takes his shirt off. Bizarre, right?
