Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl Halftime Performance 2017 included “This Land is Your Land” and Atelier Versace. The Lady Gaga Super Bowl halftime performance 2017 was surprisingly void of political innuendo. Considering Gaga’s past theatrics, many expected a politically charged performance. How could we forget Gaga’s meat dress or LGBT centric single “Born This Way”. Instead, the Millions Reasons singer chose her moments carefully. Lady Gaga’s performance wasn’t completely neutral, of course. The singer opened her show with Woodie Guthrie’s “This Land is Your Land”. It’s the very same song that protesters sang recently at JFK airport in protest of President’s trump ban. Next up was Gaga’s rendition of “God Bless America”, another especially poignant and reflective tune. The remainder of Gaga’s halftime performance focused on the singer’s greatest hits. A performance she says was specifically for her little monsters. “Essentially, that kid that couldn’t get a seat at the cool kids table and that kid who was kicked out of the house because his mom and dad didn’t accept him for who he was? That kid is going to have the stage for 13 minutes,” she shared. “And I’m excited to give it to them.” We also finally saw Lady Gaga’s TV ad with Tiffany & Co. As if performing at the Super Bowl isn’t enough. Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Lady Gaga performance without insane fashion. This time around Gaga goes couture in a custom look by Atelier Versace. “Versace has been such an important part of her fashion history. So it was such a natural choice to work with them on the costumes,” Gaga’s stylist Brandon Maxwell shared with Vogue. The entertainers performance was certainly a dream for hard-core Gaga fans everywhere. Throwing herself from the edge of the stadium into the Super Bowl 2017 crowd, Gaga began the concert with hit single “Just Dance”. The next few minutes were textbook Gaga as Mother Monster belted out “The Edge of Glory”, “Poker Face” and “Born this Way”. For a moment, we thought that we may even see Beyonce as Gaga began to sing their hit duet “Telephone” before transitioning into ballad “Million Reasons”. Gaga ended her Super Bowl halftime performance with perhaps a cryptic message in “Bad Romance”. I want your ugly. I want your disease. I want your everything as long as it’s free. I want your love. Love-love-love. Before we knew it Lady Gaga was gone.
