Bella Hadid & Korean Rapper G Dragon Cover Vogue China

Bella Hadid and South Korean Rapper G Dragon (지드래곤) Cover the August 2016 Issue of Vogue China.

Bella Hadid poses with G-Dragon for the August issue of Vogue Chine Me. Lensed by Mario Testino, Hadid faces the cover with South Korean pop star G-Dragon, with the words ‘Pop Power’ collaged prospectively beneath the two socially influential figures. After recently landing the coveted spot of Vogue Japan’s cover, she is also the cover face of Harper’s Bazaar Australia as well as Glamour. Just looking at her recent newsstand credibility alludes to the proving power of pop, culture that is.

The millennial imprint for Chinese Vogue crowned Hadid on the cover, styled in slick black leather and a red button down shirt. G-Dragon was similarly styled in richly embroidered damask, red garb. The editorial, styled by Anna Trevelyan was quite alluring and dark in its delivery. Smoldering makeup and fiercely bold styling remained consistent in each of the photographed stills. The styles were hand selected by the creative director of Balenciaga, Demna Gvasalia.

The August issue received commentary referring to G-Dragon’s boundary pushing styling. The Korean pop star evidently embraced a more androgynous role for the issue. Credited as one who fearlessly takes risks in terms of fashion, G-Dragon achieved new heights in his experimentation, as he confidently explored seemingly genderless looks. The broody, gothic editorial capitalized from the star casting of millennial independents, Bella Hadid and G-Dragon.

The two were quite royal in their capture, as Mario Testino lensed the August issue couple portrayed in a majestic manner. A silver plated throne functioned as a captivating prop as Hadid and G-Dragon commanded the royal chair in damask printed, masculine suiting. One shot led by Testino captured Hadid with dewy makeup and slicked back hair in a black leather and organza dress. G-Dragon accompanied the model in an Asian influenced Kimono robe paired back to leather pants. Other looks included varying embroidered pantsuits and military inspired jackets.
