Supermodel Lily Aldridge is One of Five Cover Stars for the August 2016 Issue of Vogue Germany (Deutsch).
Lily Aldridge fronts the cover of Vogue Germany’s August 2016 issue along with five other cover stars. Photographed by Giampaolo Sgura and styled by Nicola Knews, the model is dressed in the Fall/Winter 2016 collections of Prada, Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Celine and Dries van Noten. In the issue, the American beauty spoke of all things from her original aspirations to her international upbringing. The model mentioned that her original dream was to aspire in a career as a professional football player for the national team of the United States of America. Her desires quite obviously changed directions when she landed a role with the Victoria’s Secret cast in 2002.
In the August editorial, Aldridge is depicted quite minimalistic, with only the cover being photographed in color, whilst the remaining spread was shot in black and white. Aldridge is captured aesthetically sailor-like, as she is styled completely in Prada’s FW16 collection. The model’s Celine proved effortlessly casual with soft flared pants, and an oversized jacket cinched tightly at the waist. The editorial was captured fluidly, easily and naturally.
For the August issue, Vogue Germany promoted varying covers, featuring five different models. On stands, alongside Lily Aldridge, models Irina Shayk, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Emily Ratajkowski and Stella Maxwell were also photographed for the cover; all continuously photographed by the notable, Giampaolo Sgura. Huntington-Whiteley was stunning in a vividly colorful editorial, with a prominent focus on textural play, wearing a total Moschino look in one shot, a printed and dyed Fendi coat in another and a myriad of other Fall/Winter 2016 collection looks. Contrastingly, Irina Shayk’s editorial was deeply toned and subtly hued. Shayk was styled in a Dries van Noten brown polka doted coat, with wood printed rousers and a collared shirt accompanied with a tie. Victoria Beckham dressed the model in an oversized long coat and a beanie. Such conservative and timid styling on Irina Shayk succeeded to be an advancing editorial for the model’s versatility.
