19 year old starlet Zendaya is the newest face of Covergirl and we love everything it stands for. The past Disney star has kept the media buzzing in more ways than one over her transitioning career. With an unmistakable beauty and an unapologetic championing of diversity and cultural responsibility, the burgeoning star has transformed controversy into advocacy as she continues to challenge traditional beauty standards. Whether it’s rocking dreadlocks on the Red Carpet or becoming CHI’s first ever celebrity brand ambassador, we’ve come to expect nothing less than bold, effortless style statements from the young muse.
According to CoverGirl, Zendaya will deliver personal makeup tips and serve as a source of beauty inspiration for women all over the world. The company went on to reveal even more exciting details sharing that Zendaya’s first television commercial will air during the Grammy Awards on Feb. 15, and that she will promote the “Clean” collection and a new mascara in summer 2016.
It’s no surprise that the international brand has decided to recruit the entertainer. Her public image is already aligned with everything that the company stands for. Zendaya’s campaigns will focus on “empower[ing] girls and women alike to embrace their uniqueness,” the company shared. This is definitely a career making move for the starlet as she joins the company’s current lineup of A-list celebs including Janelle Monae, Katy Perry, Queen Latifah, Becky G, and Sofia Vergara.
