Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana remind us of what their beloved home country is all about as the duo present a lively Dolce and Gabbana SS16 ad campaign aptly titled, ITALIA IS LOVE! Featuring a multicultural cast of fresh faces, including a host of extra’s, the brand takes us alongside as they indulge in the fervor of Italian life,
Photographed by Domenico Dolce himself, the brand employs a no frills, authentic approach as models are captured dancing, laughing, taking selfies, and indulging in pasta and wine of course. The diverse lineup includes models Alessio Pozzi, Aurelien Muller, Cong He, Cristi Isofii, Leila Nda, Luma Grothe, Pauline Hoarau, Regitze Christensen, and Stefano Berretti.
Following in the aesthetic of the Dolce and Gabbana SS16 runway show and FW15 ad campaign, the Italian fashion house seems to be branding itself based on what it knows best, Italian culture. While the campaign is slightly less editorial than usual, the SS16 collection stays true to Dolce and Gabbana form as we see luxurious collection pieces dripping in signature Dolce & Gabbana craftsmanship. The men are dressed in the usual sleek black suiting with the added surprise of leisure ware statements in an exciting blend of knit prints. The womenswear pieces too are all about showcasing the laid back, effervescent energy of Italy. A series of one-of-a-kind prints take center stage while a selection of sleek party frocks all in black, give us just the right amount of Italian flare that we always crave from the brand.
