Rick Owens SS16 Collection Paris Fashion Week Spring 2016

Cult American Designer Rick Owens Presents SS16 Collection at Paris Fashion Week Week Spring 16.

Instead of debuting a collection that pseudo pays tribute to “strong women” by suggesting that they can wear blazers and pants, Rick Owens spring/summer collection was a tribute to the true power of female strength. Before the show, Owens discussed how women nurture others and often carry the weight of another person, we didn’t expect that he’d actually bring this to life in the way he did.

Setting the mood with a live performance, Chanteuse Eska sang the theme song from the movie Exodus while models stalked the runway in Owen’s latest collection. The color scheme was rich and earthy accompanied by Owen’s signature platte of minimal grunge. Fabrics were crinkled, tops-sleeveless, and dresses were cut with meticulous avant garde silhouettes. Owen’s also debuted his latest accessory, the human backpack. Some women were carried upside down, or their legs slung over the shoulders of another woman. The show ended with models walking all together to symbolize unity and that all women are equally strong.
