Earlier this year mega retail brandÂ H&M announced its latest high-fashion designer collaboration with luxury French fashion house Balmain. While this certainly wasn’t the first big name that the international retailer has vetted (how could weÂ get the recent Alexander Wang and Versace Collections), this is perhaps the most highly anticipated of them all.
Led by Creative Director Olivier Rousteing, a chiseled 29 year old designer with a collection of friends including the likes of Kim Kardashian, Jourdan Dunn and Naomi Campbell; the whole aura of everything that is Balmain has become something that is much larger than a fashion label. The unapologetically social and charismatic Rousteing has become just as big of a personality as the A-list stars that don his collections.
Considering the almost cult like appeal of the Kardashian/Jenners and the new supermodels including Jourdan Dunn, Joan Smalls, and Karlie Kloss, the Balmain brand serves as the ideal ambassador to bridge the gap between the aspirational and the attainable; a philosophy that the H&M brand has built and empire off of.

Photographed by legendary photographer Mario Sorrenti, the campaign features a lineup of the brightest faces of the moment including Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Jourdan Dunn, Hao Yun Xiang, and Dudley O’Shaughnessy. Shot in a subway car withÂ icy blue lighting, the campaign is fresh and luxurious.
From the looks of the collection pieces, this latest collaboration is sure to be a sell out. The signature Balmain aesthetic doesn’t seem to be compromised one bit, at least not in trend of course. A sleek blend of Balmain suiting including super luxe and detailed blazers and mixed with heavily enamored tops and silky separates creating an effortlessly sophisticated ensemble
