Versus Versace SS16 Collection London Fashion Week Spring 2016

Versus Versace has gone through quite a few transitions in past Seasons. From the beginning we knew it would be difficult to separate the unique identify of the Versus brand from that of Versace, and for many of us the two were one in the same. This is not the case today, however, as the Versus brand has grown into a sophisticated, forward thinking brand that borrows from the classic designs of Versace but now comfortably exists in its own very special niche.

Led by Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello the Versus Collection that marched across the Spring 2016 runway had a stronger, more sophisticated beat than past seasons. The almost entirely black collection looked a whole lot more like a 90s Versace runway show than the usual mash up of prints and eclectic style seen in previous seasons. Instead what we saw where articulately crafted mini dresses, bits of leather in an eye catching deep green hue, and smart touches of masculinity in the construction of outerwear and a brilliant oversized vest meets mini dress look.

After lackluster success and an uncertain future of the brand, this latest collection certainly indicates a newfound confidence in what the future of Versus Versace can be- A nod to the old with an intense focus on what lies ahead.
