Christopher Kane SS16 Collection London Fashion Week Spring 2016

Designer Christopher Kane is somewhat of an ‘Art & Craftsman’, that being meant in the best light possible of course. With collections that are stitched, weaved, and somehow connected amidst mixed mediums of fabric and other material, Kane manages to maintain a sense of sophistication in his designs. It’s this aesthetic that we’ve come to crave from the designer. Colorful, fun and daring editorial innovations of classic pieces.

For the designer’s latest collection we once again enter the eclectic world of Kane as he takes us on a journey through a somewhat modern exhibition on color and form. With a color palette that ranged from bright yellow, orange, pink, and blue delicately splattered tie-die ‘to rich blacks, and crisp white detailed with bits of color that sliced through the air; Kane awakened something in his Spring 2016 collection that wasn’t quite what we expected. Instead of floral prints and dainty separates we saw modern a-symmetrical silhouettes appearing as blouse and skirt pairings or long shirt dresses accented with colorful bits of fringe that danced across the runway.

While this latest collection from Kane demands a certain type of woman, she is one that is contemporary and confidant.
