Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2015 Haute Couture Collection, Paris Couture Week.
After parting ways with ready to wear and having his retrospective still up and running at the Grand Palais in Paris France, Jean Paul Gaultier is more himself than ever. Gaultier’s haute couture is everything he is, Parisian and quirky, crepe stands, fog horns and gulls, and opening the show with the classic blue and white marinière stripes. He set the stage where he has been before, at the seaside in Brittany.
Many of the garments of  the collection resembled the traditional costumes of a bagad band members attire, gold piping and embroideries and structured shoulders on the pea coats and bomber jackets. While the skirts in a circular shape hinting towards straw hats with a wide brim or even a crepe, more so the finale skirt worn by Anna Cleveland. It’s golden hue and circular shape reminding us of a crepe on the griddle. The show closed with the marching of a bagad band down the runway followed by Gaultier locking hands with Cleveland in her finale attire. What a show!
