BALMAIN’S OLIVIER ROUSTEING ANNOUNCES COLLABORATION WITH H&M

During the BillBoard Music Awards in Las Vegas, Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing took to the red carpet, alongside his model friends Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn,  to announce his future collaboration with H&M.

Rousteing has been in the press a lot lately for providing a new age edge to the fashion industry with his campaigns and design aesthetic. Earlier this year, his ads featuring Kim and Kanye and Kendall Jenner were some of the most talked about ads for 2015, and now Rousteing, still young in  his career at Balmain, can add yet another milestone in his career with his H&M Collaboration.

Rousteing is ecstatic about the whole concept that  Balmain is going to be accessible to millions of people with the help of H&M. “Personally, it’s an amazing challenge as a designer to make a collection for the street market and for the entire world. When you work for a superluxury brand, you don’t have so many stores, your vision isn’t the entire world. With H&M, you know you’re part of the world, you touch all the continents. I’ve always been loud about being about diversity and the world.” H&M couldn’t have done a better job at selected Balmain as their latest designer collaborator. with all that is going on in the world, what we need from the fashion industry is more diversity  and Rousteing is all about that.

From Karl Lagerfeld in 2004 to Alexander Wang in 2014, Rousteing will continue to enrich H&M’s high-profile designer collaborations set to be released in November 201, online and in stores. The collection will include women’s and men’s  clothes, shoes and accessories. All the hype for the anticipating collaboration has already coined a clever hashtag: #HMBALMINATION, which is bound to flood social media in due time.
