Project Cobalt filled Reed Space in New York’s Lower East Side to debut its first clothing collection titled Project Cobalt SS15.
The Reed Space store and gallery, owned by Jeff Staple of Staple Design, will continue to house a week-long pop-up concept shop from April 16 to April 22, featuring the new seasonal collection and collaborative product with Pintrill and Street Etiquette’s brand Black Ivy.
Project Cobalt’s inaugural collection was conceived and created by an eclectic group of New York designers making up the first-ever Project Cobalt Craft Class team: Olu Alege and Edgar Garrido of Street Level Culture; Alexandra Kennedy, Samantha Giordano of Dolores Haze; and Drew Villani.
Led by All Beuys Club, Project Cobalt’s style initiative partners young aspiring designers across multiple categories of fashion with industry vets — all sharing an appreciation and enthusiasm for emphasis on innovative fashion design. Uniquely networked to create a foundation from which to build Craft Class excellence, Project Cobalt is dedicated to accelerating the potential of young creators to impact the world through the creative disciplines of fashion, art, film, technology and more. As mentors within the Cobalt Style program, Jeff Staple, Liza Deyrmenjian and Parke & Ronen contribute invaluable experience and uncommon insight that not only guides the Craft Class to success but creates within them real possibility for fashion greatness.
