ASAP Rocky Models for Dior Hommes Campaign
Hip-hop artist ASAP Rocky has made it very clear that he takes fashion seriously. Just listen to any one of A$AP’s melodic tracks and you’re likely to hear the artist name drop brands like Raf Simons, Rick Owens, and Alexander Wang. Self-proclaimed pretty boy A$AP is not all talk. Along with his catchy rhymes, the rapper has proven to have a style repertoire to back it up. ASAP’s latest collaboration puts both his “pretty boy” swagger and increasing style influence to task as he teams up with Dior Hommes to front the brand’s AW16 fashion campaign. Meet ASAP Rocky the model.
Photographed by Willy Vanderperre, A$AP brings his youthful, street infused energy to the Dior Hommes campaign. “I mean, it’s dope when you can mix it. It’s all about taking two worlds like streetwear and high-end and kind of mashing them together,”A$AP Rocky told WWD. Shot against a stark gray background, the artist dons suiting selections from the brand’s AW16 collection complimented by understated jewelry and modern sunglasses.
The Fashion Killa rapper made serious waves in his fashion pursuits the past few months. He’s launched a clothing line with fellow ASAP mob member, ASAP Bari, named VLONE. Several of the collection pieces sold out including the hugely popular VLONE hoody. ASAP has also produced several high-fashion collaborations. Just last week, the artist announced a collaboration with designer J.W. Anderson dubbed the ASAP Rocky X JW Anderson AWGE Collection. Prior, ASAP teamed up with Guess for the Guess Originals X ASAP Rocky capsule collection.
Now back to the campaign. Creative Director, Kris Van Assche cast a few surprising faces in the Dior Hommes fashion campaign. The lineup includes filmmaker Larry Clark, rising French actor Rod Paradot and model Dylan Roques. Each model posed in there very own solo shots similar to ASAP’s.
