While most view Vogue’s editor in chief, Anna Wintour, as an icy whip snapping tyrant, the publishing mogul shows us that she knows how to laugh with us during her recent appearance on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’.  Wintour’s recent stint may be a bit of a surprise, but the two have had a remarkably close relationship for sometime now. Perhaps you recall Meyers hosting the 2012 CFDA Awards, or have seen his face appearing in the pages of Vogue. Yes, it seems as if this duo has been trading satire for sometime now.

It’s revealed that Condé Nast isn’t the only operation under Wintour’s helm in the hilarious sketch. Meyer’s breaks down and admits that Wintour is the mastermind behind many of comedy’s biggest successes. “A lot of people don’t realize, along with being a fashion icon, Anna Wintour has been behind every major comedy decision in the last 40 years,” Meyers explained. “‘Saturday Night Live’ was her idea. She directed ‘Animal House.’ She told Jerry Seinfeld the show should be about nothing.”

Whatever your opinion of Wintour, it’s hard to deny her sharp sense of humor. The so called ‘Ice Queen’ has shown us once again that she knows how to connect to an audience, even if they don’t really understand her world.  In her infamous words from ‘The September Issue’, “I think that what I often see is that people are frightened of fashion and that because they’re scared of it, or it makes them feel insecure they put it down. On the whole, people that say demeaning things about our world. I think that’s usually because they feel in some ways excluded or not part of the cool group. So as a result they just mock it.” Well done, Wintour.

Be sure to watch the hilarious sketch for yourself and let us know what you think of Wintour’s performance!
